212 Pumper/Aerial

1999 E-One Cyclone II Quint

Engine/Ladder 212

In the fall of 2003 shortly after Hurricane Isabel made is presence known, the face of our community was forever changed. The most notable difference were the towering residential structures which were being erected along the waterfront. The community very quickly transitioned from the common waterfront bungalow landscape to a new residential housing plan. The difference was that as each family rebuilded, they had to follow and accommodate the new building flood plane code where the first living floor needed to be 11'- 2" off a "mean high tide". In fire department terms that means taller ladders are now necessary. It was decided that for firefighting tactics and potential rescue situations a fire engine with aerial capabilities had to be purchased; hence the concept of Ladder 212 was born.

This unit is likely our first out apparatus for all suppression related incidents; which on average responds to approximately 250 incidents annually in our community.

213 Squad/Pumper

2009 Pierce Impel PUC

Rescue Squad 213

To ensure we remained fiscally responsible, approximately three years ago the organization reviewed its long term critical growth plan where we analyzed our current apparatus schedule, our current/anticipated incident volume and our current/anticipated incident locations. In this review it was learned that we were able to reduce our fleet compliment without compromising any services. The one-of-a-kind concept was to sell one of our fire engines & our then rescue squad and replace both with a single, modern more efficient combination unit. This transition was able to spare us the major expense of maintaining three major pieces of apparatus. With this combination piece of equipment we are now in a position to offer these emergency services in a more fiscally sound manner yet still provide superior service to our community.

This unit is likely first out on all our rescue incidents, vehicle accidents, significant trauma medical incidents. It also serves our community well as a supplemental piece for all suppression related incidents where it responds to approximately 150 incidents annually in our community.

Our newest addition to our state-of-the-art fleet. Nicknamed the "Eastside Squmper", this Pierce Ultimate Configuration Rescue/Pumper was specifically designed and equipped to function primarily as a Heavy Rescue Squad and secondly as an Engine Company based on incident needs.

The "Everyone Goes Home" theme has been adopted and displayed.

This "Revolutionary" combination apparatus will share response duties with Quint/Engine 212 and serve the needs of our community for many years to come.

With our diverse community, the need is always evident for emergency medical care at a moments notice. This unit is our primary medical response vehicle which supplies that level of service. As our membership continues to grow and evolve, each year we show a sharp increase in EMTs on our roster; this is likely the apparatus they respond with to your emergency. The equipment compliment carried is delicate life saving instruments which should not be continuously exposed to the elements nor excessively rough rides. Due to the critical nature of any medical incident, a quick response vehicle of this nature is necessary for our community.

This unit responds to approximately 400 emergency incidents annually within our community.

Marine Unit 216

This vessel remains at our station stowed, trailered and available for any incident year round. Due to the convenient and by design smaller size of the unit we are able to manage through incidents which require a minimal draft which typically are marsh fire and environmental incidents. On a few times per year basis we are special requested to assist in the northern parts of Baltimore County at Loch Raven Reservoir or Pretty Boy Damn in which this vessel is the unit we transport to that scene.

Our Marine Rescue Division is alerted for all tidal water rescues in Baltimore County in which those totals annually are approximately 55 times per year.

219 Marine Unit

1997 30 foot Grady White

Marine Unit 219

This vessel is moored in Frog Mortar Creek in an excellent location adjacent to Martin's Airport airplane ramp with a very quick less than a few minute response to the Chesapeake Bay. Due to the sheer size of the vessel this is our primary response unit during inclimate weather. While the majority of the boating community take shelter during inclimate weather, a few boaters remain which occasionally require our assistance during heavy seas. This unit is moored in-water approximately nine months of the year and out of service on land the remaining three months. The vessel is too large to trailer safely so is confined to the marina during the off season. It is capable of handing most of the fire, rescue or medical related emergencies we are alerted for.

Our Marine Rescue Division is alerted for all tidal water rescues in Baltimore County in which those totals annually are approximately 55 times per year.
